$5 million is invested in Patchstack WordPress Security, and Yoast co-founder joins the board

$5 million in funding and the appointment of Yoast co-founder Joost de Valk to the board were announced by Patchstack WordPress security.

The WordPress security startup Patchstack has announced a $5 million USD investment round and the board appointment of Yoast SEO co-founder Joost de Valk. The money will hasten Patchstack’s evolution into the quickest full-cycle security solution.

Patchstack: Reliable Security ally

Major web hosts, plugin developers, and websites all over the world entrust Patchstack, an Estonian firm that is rapidly expanding in the WordPress security space. It has just made available to open-source software providers a free security solution that aids in their compliance with the impending European Cyber Resilience Act.

Reputably trusted by clients including GoDaddy, Digital Ocean, Plesk, and cPanel, Patchstack is a WordPress security partner with over 300 plugins, including Elementor, WP Rocket, WP Bakery Page Builder, and Slider Revolution.

Every day, more than five million websites are subjected to security scans by Patchstack, which also provides low-cost real-time protection (beginning at $5 per website/month) and a free vulnerability detection plugin.

The $5 million in investment is described in full in the Patchstack announcement:

“Estonian cybersecurity startup Patchstack, which was awarded a €2.7 million R&D grant by the European Innovation Council in 2022, has announced a new funding round of $5 million USD to support their mission of offering the quickest mitigation of emerging security threats by addressing the full lifecycle of open-source security.

Karma Ventures, an early-stage venture capital fund that specializes in deep-tech software startups, led Patchstack’s Series A round. Emilia Capital, the investment firm of Yoast founders Marieke van de Rakt and Joost de Valk, and G+D Ventures, a German TrustTech investor, also participated.

In response to Search Engine Journal, Joost de Valk said:

“Patchstack is a very remarkable product and company. I just became a member of their board.

He is correct in saying that every WordPress website should have Patchstack on its short list of security solutions as it presently stops millions of vulnerability attacks. WordPress security isn’t thought of as an SEO-related issue, but it should be taken into consideration in every SEO audit because it just takes a significant vulnerability incident to lose the trust of clients and website visitors, which can have an effect on revenue and search engine results.
