Cookie Policy
This page explains what cookies ezitech.org uses, what each type is for, and exactly how to turn them off if you would rather we did not use them.
1.What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. On your next visit, the browser sends it back, which is how a site remembers things like your preferences or whether you have already seen a message. Similar technologies such as local storage and pixels do much the same job, and this policy covers them too.
Cookies set by ezitech.org are called first-party. Cookies set by services we embed, such as Google Analytics or an embedded YouTube video, are third-party.
2.Why we use them
We use a small number of cookies to keep the site working properly, to serve pages faster, and to understand in aggregate how many people visit and which pages are useful. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell any data collected through them.
3.Cookies we use
Strictly necessary
Required for the site to function. These cannot be switched off through the site, though your browser can block them; parts of the site may then stop working.
- WordPress session and security cookies: keep forms working, protect against cross-site request forgery, and keep administrators signed in.
- LiteSpeed Cache: helps our caching layer serve the right version of a page to the right visitor, which is what keeps the site fast.
Functional
- Preference cookies: remember basic choices such as a dismissed notice, so you are not shown the same thing repeatedly.
- Elementor: supports page layout and interactive elements such as sliders and accordions.
Performance and analytics
- Google Analytics, connected through Google Site Kit, counts visits, measures how long pages are read, and shows which sites referred visitors. Reporting is aggregated; we do not use it to identify individuals.
4.Third-party cookies
Some cookies come from services we embed rather than from us, and we cannot control them directly:
- Google: analytics and, where used, Search Console and Tag Manager.
- YouTube: if a page embeds a video, YouTube may set cookies when the player loads.
- Social platforms: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and WhatsApp may set cookies if you interact with a link or embedded element that points to them.
These providers set cookies under their own policies. Please review the privacy and cookie policies of any third-party service you interact with.
5.How long they last
- Session cookies are deleted as soon as you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them. Ours typically last from a few hours to a maximum of two years for analytics cookies.
6.How to control cookies
Your browser gives you full control. You can block all cookies, block third-party cookies only, delete existing ones, or set the browser to ask you each time. The settings live under Privacy or Site Settings in these browsers:
- Chrome: Settings › Privacy and security › Third-party cookies
- Safari: Settings › Privacy › Manage Website Data
- Firefox: Settings › Privacy & Security › Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings › Cookies and site permissions
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop forms from submitting or pages from displaying correctly. Blocking analytics cookies has no effect on how the site works for you.
Using your browser’s private or incognito mode also clears cookies automatically when you close the window.
7.Opting out of analytics
To stop Google Analytics from measuring your visits across every site that uses it, install Google’s official browser add-on from tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Alternatively, block analytics cookies in your browser settings as described above.
8.Do Not Track
Browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is still no agreed standard for how sites should respond, so ezitech.org does not currently change its behaviour based on that signal. We will update this section if that changes.
9.Changes to this policy
We review this policy when we add or remove a tool that sets cookies. The current version is always on this page with the date at the top.
