The work

Most alerts are noise. Your job is the one that is not

A security operations centre lives on triage: reading logs, separating false positives from real incidents, and escalating with evidence. That is what the twelve weeks train.

  • 1You get a lab SIEM full of realistic logs and alerts
  • 2You learn what normal looks like before hunting the abnormal
  • 3Your mentor reviews every triage decision you make
  • 4You write the incident report and the detection that would catch it next time

Networking and Linux basics are covered in weeks 1 to 3. You do not need prior security experience.

response :
 # verify with the user, check source IP,
 # escalate with timeline and evidence
Skills

What you will be able to do after this SOC analyst internship

01

Log analysis

Windows, Linux and network logs read the way an analyst reads them.

02

SIEM workflows

Searching, filtering and building dashboards in a SIEM.

03

Alert triage

Telling a false positive from a real incident, with evidence.

04

Network traffic

Reading packet captures in Wireshark to confirm what happened.

05

MITRE ATT&CK

Mapping what you see to known attacker techniques.

06

Detection rules

Writing and tuning rules that catch the incident next time.

07

Escalation

Knowing when and how to hand an incident up the chain.

08

Incident reports

Clear, timestamped reports a manager and an engineer can both use.

Curriculum

The 12-week SOC analyst internship plan

Four phases. Each one ends in a deliverable that is reviewed and graded before the next opens.

Foundations

Networks, systems and what normal looks like.

  • Networking basics: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP
  • Windows and Linux logging
  • How a SOC is organised and how shifts hand over
  • Reading packet captures in Wireshark
Deliverable

A baseline document describing normal activity in the lab network.

The capstone

Every intern closes a realistic incident

You work a lab scenario from the first alert to the final report: triage, investigation, escalation and the detection that would catch it earlier.

  • A triaged alert queue with documented decisions
  • A timeline built from logs and packet captures
  • An incident report and a tuned detection rule

The Ezitech model

What the SOC analyst internship includes

Three things that make this different from a course you watch on a screen.

Live client briefs

You work on real Ezitech projects with real deadlines and real revision rounds, not recycled practice exercises.

A mentor, not a playlist

Weekly reviews with someone who does this work for a living, plus a team of interns around you to build with.

Portfolio and experience letter

You finish with shipped work you are allowed to show and a letter that says exactly what you delivered.

And you leave with
  • Verified certificate

Issued by Ezitech Institute and verifiable by employers.

  • Experience letter

On company letterhead, stating exactly what you delivered.

  • An incident report

A full report on a lab incident, with the detection you wrote.

  • Interview preparation

CV rewrite, portfolio case study and a technical mock interview.

  • A route into the team

Top performers are considered first for paid junior roles.

  • Confidence in review

Twelve weeks of defending your own work to a senior practitioner.

Built for you if

  • You are an undergraduate or fresh graduate in CS, IT, cyber security or networking
  • You are comfortable with basic networking and the command line
  • You want to work defence, not just watch hacking videos
  • You need a substantial final-year project

Not a fit if

  • You want a certificate without doing the work
  • You cannot give 25 hours a week for 12 weeks
  • You only want offensive hacking, not monitoring
  • You want to skip review and work alone

Contact Ezitech

What does a SOC analyst intern actually do?

You monitor alerts in a SIEM, decide which ones are real, investigate with logs and packet captures, and write up what happened. Everything runs in Ezitech’s lab environment, never on systems you are not authorised to touch.

Do I need prior cyber security experience?

No. Weeks 1 to 3 cover networking, Linux and Windows logging. You should be comfortable with basic computer networking and willing to read a lot of logs.

Is it remote or onsite?

Hybrid. Onsite days run at the Ezitech office in Rawalpindi for reviews and labs; the rest of the week is remote. Candidates outside Rawalpindi and Islamabad can complete it fully remotely if they attend the weekly review calls.

Is there a fee?

Yes, a one-time fee of PKR 5,000 for three months. There is no stipend. The refund rules are on the internship fee and refund policy page.

Can final-year students apply?

Yes. The capstone can be scoped as a final-year project. Agree the scope with your mentor in week one if your university has a set submission format.

How do I apply?

Register on the Ezitech intern portal, choose the Cyber Security track, and complete the three-step form with your education details and CV. Shortlisted candidates get a short screening call before the intake starts.
