Mobile shop software that tracks every phone by IMEI
Ezitech Mobile Shop POS receives each handset by its IMEI, keeps a register of used phones you buy, and runs repairs, warranty claims and installment sales from the same system. Built for mobile phone shops, accessory counters and repair desks in Pakistan.
You don’t sell “a Galaxy”. You sell one handset with one history.
- Stock is counted by model, not by phone. The system says ten boxes of a model are in stock, but not which ten IMEIs. When a customer returns with a fault, nobody can say when that handset came in or what happened to it since.
- A used phone can turn out to be stolen. When a phone is reported stolen, PTA blocks its IMEI, and the handset you paid for becomes stock you cannot sell. Without the seller’s details and the IMEI on record, you cannot show where it came from.
- Repairs, claims and qist live on paper slips. A screen repair, a phone sent back to the distributor, a customer paying in monthly installments: each one tracked on a different slip or in a different notebook.
Every handset has a record, from the day it comes in
Each phone is received by IMEI, with both IMEIs saved for dual-SIM phones, and its record shows whether it is in stock, sold, under warranty, returned or out on a claim. The IMEI prints on the customer’s bill. Used phones you buy are entered in a buy-back register with the seller’s details and the handset’s IMEI. Repairs, warranty claims and installment plans each have their own module, so nothing lives on a loose slip.
What a mobile shop needs that a general shop POS doesn’t
IMEI stock
Receive every phone by IMEI, with IMEI 1 and IMEI 2 saved for dual-SIM phones. Each handset’s status shows in stock, sold, under warranty, returned or claimed, and you mark it sold against the bill number.
IMEI on the bill
For phones set to track IMEI or serial numbers, the IMEI is entered at the counter and printed on the customer’s bill.
Buy-back register
A register of phones you buy or take in exchange: the seller, their CNIC number, a photo, the model, IMEI, condition, the price paid and the bill it was linked to.
Repair jobs
Each repair gets a job with parts and labour lines, a status, and a slip for the customer.
Warranty claims
A claims register, with the claim status also shown on the handset’s IMEI record until the phone comes back.
Installments (qist)
Installment plans with each payment collected, a slip for the customer, and reminders for what is due.
Accessories at counter speed
Chargers, covers, cables and screen protectors billed by barcode like any shop item.
The checks and records that apply to a mobile shop
| What | The rule or system | Where the software helps |
|---|---|---|
| PTA registration (DIRBS) | Only PTA-registered handsets work on Pakistani networks. A dual-SIM phone has two IMEIs; each can be checked by SMS to 8484. | Both IMEIs are saved for every handset, so either one can be checked. |
| Lost and stolen phones (LSDS) | When an owner reports a phone, PTA blocks its IMEI, usually within 24 hours of verification, and it stops working on every network. | Check the IMEI before you buy; the buy-back register keeps the seller and the IMEI on record. |
| Buying used phones | Police in several cities require dealers to record the seller’s details, CNIC and the phone’s IMEI before buying. Karachi, for example, also asks dealers to verify the phone first. | The buy-back register holds the seller’s name, CNIC number, photo and the handset’s IMEI. |
The software does not check PTA’s systems itself. Local police rules differ by city. This is a summary, not legal advice. CNIC numbers are personal data; see our note on data protection for apps in Pakistan.
Five things to ask any vendor to show you
- Receive a dual-SIM phone and save both IMEIs from the box label.
- Sell it, print the bill with the IMEI on it, then open the handset’s record. Does it show sold, with the bill number?
- Buy a used phone from a walk-in seller and enter it in the buy-back register with the seller’s CNIC number, a photo and the IMEI.
- Open a repair job for a cracked screen with a part and labour, and print the customer’s slip.
- Sell a phone on six monthly installments, collect the first one, and show what is due next month.
What sits on the counter
- A PC or tablet with a browser and a reliable internet connection
- A barcode scanner that reads the IMEI barcodes on box labels, so nobody types 15 digits by hand
- A camera or phone for photos in the buy-back register
- A thermal receipt printer, a cash drawer and a UPS
Opening stock is the slow part. Every handset already on the shelf is scanned in by IMEI, so the first day’s records are as complete as the hundredth.
How a rollout runs
- Day 1: we watch a busy day at the counter and the repair desk.
- Setup: models, accessories and opening stock loaded by IMEI and checked against the shelf.
- Go live: staff trained at the counter during trading hours.

Mobile shop POS questions
Can it track phones by IMEI?
Yes. Every handset is received by IMEI, with both IMEIs saved for dual-SIM phones, and its record shows whether it is in stock, sold, under warranty, returned or claimed.
Can it tell me if a phone is stolen or not PTA-registered?
No. It does not check PTA’s systems. Check the IMEI by SMS to 8484 or on PTA’s website before you buy, and keep the seller’s details in the buy-back register.
Can I record used phones I buy?
Yes. The buy-back register keeps the seller, their CNIC number, a photo, the model, IMEI, condition and the price you paid.
Does it handle repairs and warranty claims?
Yes. Repairs have job cards with parts, labour and a customer slip; warranty claims are tracked in their own register and on the handset’s record.
Can I sell phones on installments?
Yes. Set up the plan, collect each installment with a slip, and see what is due.
How much does mobile shop software cost?
It depends on outlets and terminals; we quote in writing after a visit. Our price guide shows typical market ranges.
