We built a multichannel order management ERP for Feather Flag Nation, a family-owned US maker of custom flags and banners. Called Arden ERP, it is our ERP platform white-labelled under the client’s name. It pulls orders from Amazon, WooCommerce, eBay and Walmart, finds the cheapest FedEx, UPS or USPS service, prints the label and posts everything to the accounts.

The client

Feather Flag Nation (featherflagnation.com) is a family-owned business founded in 1999. It makes custom feather flags, banners, garden flags and inflatable tube men, and ships them from its own facility in the United States.

It sells on Amazon, its WooCommerce website, eBay and Walmart, and ships with FedEx, UPS and USPS.

The problem

Growth in online orders had outrun what the team could do by hand.

  • Amazon volume plus website orders meant retyping orders and checking marketplace screens, which led to mistakes and late shipments.
  • Marketplace listings are kits, such as a flag with a pole set and base, which have to be broken into individual stock items, including bundles and quantity multiples.
  • Rating, labelling and tracking across three carrier portals took time on every parcel, and shipping costs still had to reach the accounts.

What we built

Channel connections

Amazon (Selling Partner API), WooCommerce (REST), eBay and Walmart connect with sandbox or production mode and a stock location each. Orders import on demand or on a schedule, duplicates are skipped, and each channel can be switched off on its own.

SKU mapping and bundles

One marketplace SKU maps to one or more stock items with quantity multipliers. An unmapped-SKU list catches anything new, and order lines can be edited.

Stock and product sync

Products, categories and stock are pushed to WooCommerce with a sync log, and Amazon inventory summaries can be read back. Opening stock import, adjustments and transfers are included.

Fulfilment queue and auto-pack

Orders are grouped as late, due today, due tomorrow or later against a ship-by time. Box rules match product mixes and quantities, falling back to dimensions from similar past orders, and the packing card shows weight and shipping cost.

Carrier rates, labels and tracking

Live UPS, USPS and FedEx rates are compared by price or speed, with the cheapest flagged. FedEx and UPS labels, including multi-piece shipments, and USPS postage via Stamps.com are printed with address validation. Tracking refreshes until delivery, voided labels reverse their cost, and end-of-day manifests are produced per carrier.

Accounting, returns and purchasing

Sales orders become invoices with recorded payments, alongside expenses, journals, bank statement import, reconciliation, budgets and year-end close. Returns, credit memos and a guard against cancelling orders with a live label sit next to requisitions, purchase orders, a supplier portal and demand forecasts.

Customer portal, roles and an AI assistant

A WooCommerce plugin shows customers their own invoices, orders and statements, read-only. Role-based access controls who sees shipping, selling and accounts, and an AI assistant answers questions about the data. See our ERP software.

How it works

  1. Import the order from a channel as a sales order.
  2. Map marketplace SKUs to stock items, bundles and quantities.
  3. Prioritise it in the fulfilment queue by ship-by time.
  4. Pack and rate: suggest a box and compare live FedEx, UPS and USPS rates.
  5. Label: print the label and refresh tracking until delivery.
  6. Close: shipped and paid orders close automatically and update the accounts.

What changed

  • Orders from four sales channels arrive in one ERP instead of being retyped.
  • Three carriers are rated and labelled from one screen.
  • Orders, stock, labels and accounts live in a single system.

Questions

What is a multichannel order management ERP?

It is a system that brings orders from several marketplaces and your own store into one place, then handles stock, packing, shipping labels and accounting from there.

Does it work with Amazon and WooCommerce?

Yes. Amazon connects through the Selling Partner API and WooCommerce through its REST API, along with eBay and Walmart.

How are bundled listings handled?

Each marketplace SKU maps to one or more stock items with quantity multipliers, so a kit sold as one listing deducts the right items from stock.

Can it print FedEx, UPS and USPS labels?

Yes. It compares live rates, prints labels, tracks parcels until delivery and produces end-of-day manifests for each carrier.

Can the ERP carry our own brand name?

Yes. Arden ERP is our platform white-labelled under the client’s name. Ask us about a custom or white-label build.
