The gap between a CS degree in Pakistan and a first job is not knowledge. It is evidence. You can explain a binary search tree and still have nothing an employer can look at. This page explains which track to pick for your year, what the work looks like, and what you finish with.

Pick one and stay on it for three months. Students who sample five technologies finish able to talk about all of them and build none of them.
What CS students usually miss, and what the internship fixes
- Git in a team. University work is solo. Branches, reviews and merge conflicts are a different skill, and every interview probes it.
- Reading someone else’s code. Most of a real job is understanding code you did not write.
- Requirements that change. Assignments have fixed specifications. Clients do not.
- Deployment. “It works on my laptop” is where a lot of degrees end. Getting something live and keeping it live is the gap.
- Explaining your decisions. Weekly reviews force you to defend choices, which is exactly what the interview does.

For your department’s requirement
Most computing departments ask for six or eight weeks with a letter and a report. Three months covers that, and you finish with a completion certificate and an experience letter stating your dates and work. If your university needs the letter addressed a specific way, say so in the first week rather than the last.
Questions from CS students
Which internship is best for a computer science student?
The one that matches the jobs you will apply for, not the one with the most popular name. For most CS students in Pakistan that means web or app development, because that is where the local hiring is.
Can I apply in second year?
Yes, and it works well if you already have the basics of one language. You will finish with a project before your peers start looking.
Do I need a high CGPA?
No. We look at whether you can build something and explain it. CGPA matters more for large corporate programmes than for software houses.
Can I do this remotely while classes continue?
Yes. The whole internship can be done remotely, and interns agree a weekly schedule with their mentor.
Will it help with my final year project?
Often it becomes the final year project. You own a capstone end to end in the last stretch of the internship. If you need the project itself built to a deadline, see final year project development.
